Welcome to my world of words!

Darlene Reilley

Hey there! I’m Darlene Reilley, your friendly neighborhood wordsmith and fangirl, ready to whisk you away on a literary adventure like no other. Brace yourself for heart-pounding adventures, soul-stirring romance, bone-chilling horror, and mind-bending science fiction escapades—I’ve got the full spread.

And here’s the real scoop: I write poetry and nonfiction with as much passion as my fiction. Are you ready to enter into a world where words rule? Grab a seat, and let’s journey together!

Welcome to my realm of words! I’m a fangirl at heart, powered by a love for all things geeky and bookish. Whether it’s Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, Supernatural, or the entire Marvel universe, I proudly wear my fandom badges. But being a devoted fan is just the tip of the iceberg.

As a versatile writer, I traverse the landscapes of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. My goal is to create books that seamlessly blend archaeology, romance, and science fiction—an intersection where the extraordinary happens. Every word I write aims to craft epic tales that leave an indelible mark on the lives of my readers.

Join me on this literary escapade as we explore new worlds, unravel mysteries, and embark on transformative adventures together. Whether you’re seeking a thrilling escape, a peek into the human experience, or a poetic journey through emotions, I invite you to immerse yourself in my diverse literary offerings.

But wait, there’s more to my world than just writing. Armed with a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Goddard College, my thesis, The Divantinum Project, catapulted me into a science fiction odyssey set in a futuristic Earth teeming with spaceships, species, and characters. This sparked my current work in progress—a science fiction series featuring a half-alien/half-goddess orphan who grew up on Earth. Gaea keeps me on my toes!

Beyond writing, my hands-on anthropology and adventures contribute to the rich tapestry of my books. I’m here to help fellow writers find inspiration and purpose, and as a lover of adventure with well-traveled boots, I strive to help readers find new best friends within the pages of my books.

My ambitions extend beyond imagination—I aim to finish and publish The Divantinum Project, teach creative writing for adults, and unleash the 8,000+ articles, essays, and stories haunting my computer upon the world. Oh, and there’s that audacious dream of writing 100 books in the next forty years—a true literary life of adventure!

But wait, there’s more! Picture the Reilley Writer’s Retreat—a sanctuary for creativity, a haven where writers of all backgrounds can thrive. Imagine a hiker-yoga-writer haven, complete with unique workshops and an inspiring atmosphere. That’s the vision I’m tirelessly working towards.

Overflowing with ideas and fueled by action, I’m a prolific writer ready to ignite your imagination and touch your heart. Explore the highlights of my publication list or take a deeper dive into my work through my portfolio at Darlene Reilley.

Thank you for stopping by, and may my words spark your imagination and resonate with your heart. Join me on this whimsical journey through fiction, nonfiction, and poetry as we create and explore together.

Best, Darlene

Hi Darlene – I sort of stumbled upon your blog while searching around on WordPress and am so glad I did! As a writer still very much in the aspiring stages of being published, you are definitely an inspiration. 🙂

Quick FYI about the links: I tried to visit your website but ended up getting the “website suggestions” page. Our server goes in and out sometimes, so it may have just been an issue on my side.
