22 hours of good writing

22 hours of editing

15 hours of paperwork or marketing

15 hours of research

1 1/2 days off to recover

17 hours of reading

6 hours of writing exercises

3 hours at writers group

18 cups of coffee or tea

2 notebooks

6 favorite pens

300 index cards

1 box markers

1 dry erase board

2 dry erase markers

1 dose secret writer ingredient


Assemble all the ingredients in a well-lit room or a nicely-lit cave. Using one at a time or in groupings, add secret writer ingredient: imagination! Let the dust settle and enjoy your newly found writer life.

* Note: this recipe can be amended to decreased hours due to cats, children, or dogs scampering about your life. Take what you need and enjoy!
